JBS Names Joesley and Wesley Batista to the Board of JBS SA, Shows Complete Absence of Accountability and Major Risk to American Financial Community
New York, NY (March 27, 2024) – Ban the Batistas Executive Director Kimberly Spell issued the following statement today in response to JBS SA’s latest filing naming Joesley and Wesley Batista, proven masters of corruption, to its board of directors in the meatpacking giant’s latest show of complete lack of accountability:
“JBS naming the corporate criminal Batista brothers to its board should send a chilling message to U.S. regulators and investors alike that JBS should not have access to American capital markets. This is just the latest demonstration of the brothers’ illicit quest for power and utter lack of accountability. JBS is taunting U.S. regulators with a brazen and transparent effort to hand near total control of the company to its corrupt leaders, and we urge all financial stakeholders to heed these warning signs and block planned efforts by JBS to list on the New York Stock Exchange.”
